Prospects of striking it rich were brought to the fore in 1848 when James Marshall detected gold in the American River within Sutter’s Mill, California. This event instantaneously heralded a great influx of people from every corner of the world to the area. Although some had the fortune of becoming prosperous, for many, this ambition dissipated once confronted with the harsh reality of digging for gold in the rough terrains of California.
What if instead of toiling away for the chance to find gold, all you had to do was find a place where it was already abundant? A place in which the sweet glimmer of gold could be seen and harvested with ease.
With the advent of drill hole rock treasure, otherwise known as rock hole mining, the idea of gold being tucked away instones is becoming realizable. A drill creates an access point in the chosen rock, allowing prospective hunters to delve into its depths and pockets of gold to be unearthed.
Although the concept may be straightforward, the reality is fairly intricate. Your first objective is to identify a stone that houses flecks of gold. This can be painstaking, as gold typically lies sparsely and is not visible to the unaided eye.
To grab a hold of the gold running through the rock, drilling is the path you need to take. Although it requires precision to ensure the vein of gold remains unstained, it can be a tricky endeavor.
After puncturing the surface of the rock, a metal rod needs to be carefully placed into the newly-made hole. This rod will be tasked with applying sufficient force to the rock, sending shockwaves along the vein of gold that will cause it to crack.
After fracturing the rock, a chisel and hammer can be employed to crack it, and subsequently reach the reservoir of gold within.
Despite the long hours required, there’s no absolute guarantee of finding gold, however if you’re up for a challenge and fortune favors you, a great wealth could be within your grasp.
