Drill Bit, Rock Drill
Introduction of new advanced machines and technology!

the history of rock drilling

In the waning years of the 18th century, the first rock drills saw their development, designed to bore out holes for blasting activities in mines and quarries. Powered by hand and driven by iron bits, these rudimentary units were particularly challenging to use and failed to demonstrate great efficiency.

In the 1800s, advancements in technology allowed for the development of steam-powered rock drills. With uninhibited power and increased efficiency compared to the hand-powered equivalents, these drills revolutionized large construction projects such as railroad tunnels.

The 19th century marked a period of increased productivity through the introduction of pneumatic rock drills. Built to be powered by compressed air, these devices offered a welcome change from their steam-powered predecessors. As a result, mining and construction projects had access to dependable and reliable tools that enabled them to complete projects on time and with greater speed.

The age of electricity brought us something remarkable- the electric rock drill. This advanced device was far more powerful than the traditional pneumatic drill and quickly became the go-to tool for miners and builders during the early 1900s. It was a turning point in the development of construction projects and mining operations.

For any kind of project, big or small, from mining to construction and beyond, rock drills are an indispensable asset. The array of size and type options make them accessible to any project.
