When drilling into hot rock, harmful water can be forced up from the depths and escape into the soil. Numerous activities, including mining, drilling, landfills, and agricultural runoff, can pollute the water table if the proper safeguards are not in place. For example, when drilling into hot rocks, water is pulled to the surface which can later seep into the ground and contaminate the water table. Moreover, the chemicals used to penetrate the hot rock can also become contamination sources if not monitored vigilantly. As a result, failure to protect the water table may create serious health risks.

Cleanliness in the water supply is instrumental for avoiding serious health repercussions. Containing multiple toxins—including viruses, germs, and synthetic components—contaminated H2O can spell disaster for humans who make direct contact. Therefore, it is essential for citizens to drink and cook with sanitized water to minimize the risk of disease.
